A communications member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region, Onasis Rosely Kobby, has revealed that John Mahama will introduce free tertiary education when he gets the mandate from the people of Ghana on December 7, 2020.

Speaking on Kumasi based Hello FM, Onasis Rosely Kobby opined that Ghanaians will find out more when the party launches its manifesto for the 2020 election. Source: Original READ ALSO: Ghanaians still don’t trust Mahama; they will still vote Akufo-Addo - EIU Report He gave a hint when he wished the Free SHS final year candidates writing the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) the best in the ongoing exams. “I want to use this opportunity to encourage all the WASSCE candidates, I send God’s blessings upon them,” he said. “They need to pass so they can vote for John Mahama in order for them to attend university for free, as Mahama has promised.” When the host of the show quizzed him whether he was confirming if the NDC has promised free university education, Kobby replied “Don’t worry, our manifesto will be out”.
In the build-up to the 2016 elections, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagship campaign promise was Free SHS. 

The Free SHS policy has since been implemented when the NPP came into power after winning the 2016 election. It is unclear whether the claims of the NDC communicator, Kobby, is true, but we all await the party’s manifesto to ascertain the truth or otherwise. Topsecret media earlier reported that more than half of Ghanaians surveyed in Ghanaweb's Ghana Election Poll do not think President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has fulfilled his promises well enough to deserve re-election as president of Ghana in the December presidential election. The first wave of results of the Ghana Election Poll conducted online via renowned market research firm, MSI-ACI, from May 1 through to June 30 found that 52% of the respondents are against the view that the president deserves another 4-year mandate based on fulfilled promises. 32% of Ghanaians who took part in the poll are of the view that the president has fulfilled his promises in the past four years and deserves to be re-elected.
